Parents, kids, time and money

Parents love their kids a lot. They mean world to them. But as we all know excess of everything is bad, excess love and caring is also bad. Sometimes parents forget that they should refrain themselves from pampering kids so much. Too much pampering spoils kids and affects their behavior. 

All parents love their children and want them to have all the happiness of the world. If we start listening to their all demands, then our kids will never understand the hardships of life. We would be serving everything to them on a silver platter. Kids should know that nothing comes easy; everything is earned with great efforts. They should be taught about the hard work and the value of the money. But first parents should know the value of money, then only kids will be able to understand.

Kids should be taught to save their money to buy the things on their wish list. Saving money will instill some sense of responsibility in the kids. They will start spending wisely to save for their special item. Parents should not buy everything what their kids want instantly; rather they should buy only when the necessity demands for it. Some parents do not say ‘NO’ to anything and buy whatever their kids ask for. This is their way of showing love towards their kids. But fulfilling all the demands of kids is not a way of showing love.

In those families where both the parents are working, they have very less time at their disposal for the kids. Hence, they substitute their time with money. They shower their kids with all the fancy stuff to make up for everything. Parents should avoid replacing time with money as it affects kids badly. A quality time with kids helps in strengthening the bond between parents and kids but money can never build the bond between the two. 

Parents should also keep a check on their expenses. Over indulgent parents inspire their kids to spend more as well. First, parents should avoid spending unnecessarily then only their kids will learn to do so. Kids learn from their parents. Parents are role model for their kids. Hence, they should exhibit the kind of behavior they themselves want from their kids.

Parents should encourage their kids to save money and appreciate what they have. They need to give quality time to their kids and take them out once in a while for family bonding. Parents should stop listening to unjustifiable demands of their kids and should make them understand the value of money. All these things will help kids in becoming responsible and sensible.
